Your History tab is, quietly, the most valuable thing in the app. It is a record of the thoughts that have weighed on you and the better ones you built in response. The problem was that it had become a wall. Scroll, scroll, scroll, give up. The reframe that would help you right now was in there somewhere, and "somewhere" is functionally nowhere.
Adding a search box would have taken an afternoon. We spent four sprints, because the box is not the hard part. The hard part is the question behind it.
Searching for a feeling, not a keyword
When you reach for your history, you are rarely looking for a word. You are looking for a moment that rhymes with this one. "The time I felt like this before." A keyword search punishes that — you have to remember the exact phrasing of a thought you wrote down while spiraling, which is the opposite of how memory works under stress.
So search had to match meaning, not just letters. Type "I'm not good enough" and it should surface the night you wrote "everyone can tell I'm faking it," because those are the same wound in different clothes. Getting that right, on-device, fast, and private, was most of the four sprints.
Three ways in
We landed on three doors into the same room. Search by meaning, for when you remember the feeling. Filter by the thinking trap — catastrophizing, mind-reading, all-or-nothing — for when you want to see a pattern. And a simple timeline, for when you just want to scroll back to a specific week. Different states of mind reach for different doors, and we stopped trying to pick one for you.
And the iOS 18 widget
Riding along in the same release: a rebuilt iOS 18 widget. It surfaces a reframe you saved, right on your home screen, so the better thought finds you before you go looking for it. It respects the new tinted and control-center widget styles, and it pulls from your actual saved reframes rather than a generic quote bank — your words, when you need them, without opening anything.
History should feel less like an archive and more like a friend with a good memory. That was the whole goal. Go find the reframe you needed last month; it is a lot easier to reach now.
