Goals Guide — How to Set Your Goal in MindLift

Learn how to choose the right goal in MindLift and how it personalizes your affirmations, categories, and reframe prompts. 6 goals explained with examples.

TL;DR: Your goal is what MindLift uses to personalize everything — which affirmations appear, which categories are prioritized, which reframe prompts you see. Set it in onboarding; change it anytime in Settings.

Goals

The goal you choose shapes everything the app shows you.

How goals work

MindLift isn't a one-size-fits-all app. Someone trying to stop overthinking needs different language than someone dealing with relationship anxiety. Your goal is the signal that makes personalization possible.

When you set a goal, MindLift changes:

  • Which affirmations appear on your Home Screen
  • Which categories are shown first
  • The tone and framing of CBT reframes
  • What the app recommends when you're in a spiral

😤

Reduce Anxiety

For persistent worry, physical tension, and thought spirals that feel hard to stop.

What the app surfaces

  • Breathing exercises surfaced first
  • Affirmations around uncertainty tolerance
  • CBT reframes for catastrophizing patterns
  • Categories: Anxiety, Health, Work Pressure

Choose this if

"You catch yourself checking things twice, dreading outcomes, or feeling stuck in "what if" loops."

How to choose

Pick the goal that matches what's bothering you right now — not the most ambitious version of what you want. If anxiety is making daily life harder, start there. You can always change it later.

Quick guide:

🌀 Replay thoughts / can't stop analyzing? → Stop Overthinking

😤 Worry, dread, physical tension? → Reduce Anxiety

💬 Harsh inner critic / self-judgment? → Improve Self-Talk

💪 Imposter syndrome / holding back? → Build Confidence

🌙 Racing thoughts at night? → Sleep Better

💛 Anxious about people / connection? → Relationships

Changing your goal

You can change your goal anytime in Settings. Some people switch goals as they work through different challenges — for example, starting with anxiety, then shifting to confidence as the anxiety eases.

There's no wrong goal. The best goal is the one that matches where you are today.
