Favorites: Build Your Personal Mental Toolkit

This isn't a quote board. Favorites is where you keep the specific thoughts — your words, your reframes, the affirmations that actually landed — that you want to come back to when things get hard.

What Are Favorites?

Most apps give you content. MindLift lets you curate it. Favorites is your personal collection — the thoughts, reframes, and affirmations that have already proven useful to you. Not content picked by an algorithm. Not generic inspiration. The specific words that helped you in a specific moment.

Think of it as a running document of your own mental toolkit. Every time something shifts your thinking, you can add it. Over time, it becomes a reliable resource you built yourself.

Curated affirmations
The ones MindLift suggests based on your goal — save the ones that actually land for you.
🔄
Reframes you received
When a reframe shifts something for you, save it. You can revisit that exact perspective when the same thought comes back.
✍️
Words you wrote yourself
Create a card from scratch — in your own voice, with the framing that works for your specific situation.

Why Saving Matters (It's Not Just for Later)

A thought you encounter once has a small chance of sticking. A thought you return to five times starts to become part of how you process situations automatically. That's not a metaphor — it reflects how the brain builds new default pathways.

The goal isn't to read a new affirmation every day. It's to keep returning to the few that shift something in you — until they stop feeling like effort and start feeling like your natural way of thinking.

Saving is how you create that repetition deliberately, without having to scroll through content each time.

Saving & Creating — Try It Here

In the app, tap ❤️ on any affirmation or reframe to save it. Or open your Favorites by tapping the ❤️ icon → tap “Write Your Own Card” → write something in your own words. The demo below works the same way.

Try it: tap ❤️ to save, or write your own
Overthinking
I don't have to fix everything today.
Self-worth
My worth isn't determined by how productive I was.
Confidence
I can feel nervous and still show up.
Relationships
One hard conversation doesn't define the relationship.
Write a thought that would actually help you right now:
New cards are saved automatically to your Favorites.

Saving a Reframe You Received

When you use the Mini-Reframe feature and the alternative thought actually helps, save it. That specific reframe was generated for your specific thought — it won't appear again unless you keep it.

Original thought

"I always say the wrong thing in meetings."

Saved reframe ❤️

"I'm more aware of my communication than most people. That awareness is what I use to grow."

The next time that same thought shows up — "I always say the wrong thing" — you already have a tested alternative waiting in your Favorites.

Creating Your Own Cards

The most powerful cards in your collection will be the ones you wrote. Not because they sound better — but because they're in your language, about your specific situation, addressing the exact pattern you're working on.

How to create your own card
1
Open your Favorites by tapping the ❤️ icon.
2
Tap “Write Your Own Card.”
3
Type your quote in your own words, then save — it’s added to your Favorites instantly.

The difference between generic and personal:
Generic (less useful)
"You are enough."
"Believe in yourself."
"You are worthy of love."
Personal (much more useful)
"I'm allowed to take longer to respond."
"One bad presentation doesn't erase years of work."
"I can disagree and still be likeable."

There's no limit on how many cards you can create. The only guideline: write it like you're talking to yourself, not writing a poster.

A 7-Step System for Using Favorites Well

Favorites isn't a collection you build once and forget. Here's how to get real use out of it over time:

1
Start with what resonates
As you read affirmations or get reframes, your instinct will tell you when one hits differently. That's the one to save. Don't overthink it — if it made you pause, it's worth keeping.
2
Add your own words
Open your Favorites by tapping the ❤️ icon, then tap "Write Your Own Card". Write something in your own voice — not what sounds inspiring, but what actually feels true and helpful for you right now. "I don't have to solve everything today" is more useful than something abstract.
3
Build by theme, not by volume
You don't need 50 saved cards. Five that you actually come back to are worth more than fifty you scroll past. Save intentionally.
4
Revisit after a hard moment
After a difficult day, open Favorites before reaching for social media or distraction. Let one of your saved thoughts be the first thing you read.
5
Update as you grow
What you need at the beginning of your MindLift journey will shift. Some cards stop resonating — remove them. Add new ones as your language evolves.
6
Pin your most-used to the Home Screen
Your top Favorites can rotate on your Home Screen. This means the first thing you see when you open the app is something you already know works for you.
7
Make it yours, not generic
This is not a quote board. It's a personal repository of thoughts that have helped you specifically. The more specific and personal your cards, the more useful they become over time.

Home Screen Widget Setup

Your top Favorites can rotate on your MindLift Home Screen — so every time you open the app, you see a thought you already know works for you. To set this up:

Save at least 3 cards to your Favorites
Go to Settings → Home Screen display
Select "Show from Favorites" instead of "Show all"
Your saved cards will now rotate on your Home Screen

What You'll Notice Over Time

People who build out a genuine Favorites collection — especially with personal cards — tend to report:

🧠
Faster access to your own calming thoughts when anxiety or self-criticism spikes
📈
A personal record of your mental progress — the thoughts that helped you over time
🔁
Repetition that actually builds new neural patterns, not just temporary relief
🏠
A Home Screen that reflects your specific needs, not a one-size-fits-all feed
This is your collection, not ours.

We give you a starting point — curated affirmations, personalized reframes. But the most valuable part of Favorites is what you put in it. The more you engage with your own thoughts and language, the more useful it becomes. Start with one card. Write something true for you right now.
